"Hack" is an expression of praise where I learned it. But it implies that
you are using something outside of it's design envelope, which you are.

I don't want to get into a long back and forth on this. I think I
understand your objection. I don't think it's a valid objection. But it's
up to the chairs to call consensus, not up to you or me.
