There are at least three implementations of =91alias mechanism for zone =
apex=92 I=92m aware of (DNS Made Easy=92s ANAME, PowerDNS=92s ANAME =
(same thing?), and CloudFlare=92s =93CNAME Flattening=94). Not sure if =
they interoperable (or even if there is a need for interoperability).
