Very good document, IMHO, and useful. I appreciate that we have a
document explaining clearly the difference between a domain name and a
DNS name. I loved the history bit, with SMTP defining the domain name
:-)

Two remarks:

You make a confusion between the ordering of the sequence and its
representation. You may mention the ordering (the most specific label
at the beginning, the root at the end) as long as you don't refer to
the representation (in english, the most specific label is on the
left, in arabic on the right).

So, I suggest, when describing domain names, to use only "first" and
"last" for the labels and never "left" or "right", which are
script-specific.

Then, /etc/cups/ppd/Konicac.ppd is a domain name? I tend to regard the
dot as a sure sign that the character string is intended to be a
domain name.
