Hi David,

There was an announcement on 27 August 2024 about your appointment as
IETF Liaison to the ICANN Board of Directors. There is a thread at
https://mailarchive.ietf.org/arch/msg/dnsop/lY1i4igULwsjJWxqP4tn238hBfo
about adopting a draft discussing ".internal". Peter Thomassen asked
how to get the IETF Liaison to ask the ICANN Board to clarify what
the ICANN Board meant when it used the word "delegation" in one of
its resolutions (the resolution is below).

Resolved (2024.07.29.06), the Board reserves .INTERNAL from delegation in
the DNS root zone permanently to provide for its use in private-use
applications. The Board recommends that efforts be undertaken to raise
awareness of its reservation for this purpose through the organization's
   technical outreach.

Regards,
S. Moonesamy
