Hi Warren, On Jun 20, 2024, at 18:56, Warren Kumari <warren@kumari.net> wrote: > Hi there Authors, IESG, WG and Secretariat, > > draft-ietf-dnsop-qdcount-is-one - "In the DNS, QDCOUNT is (usually) One" is now approved. > > I'd like to thank everyone, especially the authors and Eric Vyncke, for all of their hard work - it significantly improved the document. > > There are some editorial comments that can still be addressed; these are minor enough that they can occur with the RFC Editor… I have tackled the editorial comments in a candidate 04 (not submitted, URL below, work-in-progress-in-progress). Since these changes are minor and don't affect the substance of the document I presumed to tackle these without bothering Ray, so any glaring errors in this candidate 04 are mine, not his. If anybody feels like checking my work, it can be found at: https://github.com/ietf-wg-dnsop/draft-ietf-dnsop-qdcount-is-one The one comment I didn't address was Éric's comment on section 1, where we use (as in this sentence) the editorial "we" to outline the structure of the document to follow. I think the editorial "we" is sufficiently familiar from its use elsewhere (e.g. in many, many academic papers) that the context is clear, and I think the passive voice would make that paragraph harder to read, so I didn't change it. Of course if this seems unsatisfactory we can revisit it^W^W^W^Wit can be revisited. Joe
