I think that would be a mistake.  Pick one and polish it.

Why do I hear so much about the ISE with these things?  This seems
like work that a working group should take on.  I'll be that we could
have a working group pretty quickly if it came to that.

Frankly, I don't think that the JSON spec is anywhere near as ready as
your proposed protocol spec, so I'm surprised to hear you want to push
it out with an RFC number on it.
