Hi dnssd,
For a while now, we've flirted with the idea of re-chartering. Tom P has done a great job of collecting some of the topics that could be included in such a re-charter.
I'd like to see if we can get a bit of discussion on these topics on this list (hopefully with firm commitments to do work).

The current charter is at: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/charter-ietf-dnssd/

Topics to consider (if you have others, you're invited to propose them; and feel free to expand and clarify what you think these might/should mean):
[These topics are presented to start thoughts flowing. If a topic gets traction, we can break it off into its own thread.]

1. Specifically capture and address homenet requirements around DNS-SD.

2. (Re)focus and scope privacy efforts. Emphasize privacy & data integrity. (Future solutions should provide mechanisms to ensure services are not tampered with and queries/responses for services can be encrypted for privacy.)

3. Define behavior of an DNS Update Proxy (does this entail more than what's in https://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-ietf-dnssd-srp-02, or does the charter need something to cover the srp draft?).

4. Emphasize Unicast for "MANY Discovery" (Multicast is acceptable for "ANY Discovery" but missed responses can't be detected for "MANY Discovery" so solutions that require "MANY Discovery" should transition to unicast).

5. Finding things near me / finding things associated with me (see https://datatracker.ietf.org/meeting/102/materials/slides-102-dnssd-recharter-01; Bluetooth Wi-Fi proximity? credentialed domain? independent of attached network?)
