Hi,

The dnssd WG has a 90 minute session arranged for IETF95 in BA. The session runs from 3:50 - 5:20pm (local time) on Monday 4th April (6:50pm to 8:20pm UTC).

Ralph and I would welcome requests for agenda time. We would expect to discuss a number of drafts, including at least:

draft-ietf-dnssd-hybrid-03
draft-ietf-dnssd-mdns-dns-interop-02
draft-ietf-dnssd-push-05
draft-otis-dnssd-scalable-dns-sd-threats-03
draft-huitema-dnssd-privacy-00
(see https://datatracker.ietf.org/wg/dnssd/documents/ <https://datatracker.ietf.org/wg/dnssd/documents/> for fuller details)

Ralph and I have discussed status of these drafts, and as a result we are initiating WGLCs for both draft-ietf-dnssd-hybrid-03 and draft-ietf-dnssd-mdns-dns-interop-02 with a two-week window, which will allow us to review the resulting comments raised in the BA meeting, and determine the actions required to progress both items towards publication.

We will be soliciting comments from the dnsop WG on draft-ietf-dnssd-push-05 in advance of the meeting, with a view to deciding at the meeting whether we’re in a position to initiate a WGLC for that draft. We’re aware of some potential overlap with other dnsop work around DNS privacy and DNS over TLS, which we would welcome comment on. We also anticipate that we may have feedback from at least one implementation of DNS Push before the meeting.

As Hosnieh just posted, there is a new update of the threats draft, draft-otis-dnssd-scalable-dns-sd-threats-03. We would like to encourage people to respond to Hosnieh's request for comments on this latest version.

We may also wish to discuss in BA whether to revisit draft-aggarwal-dnssd-optimize-query-00 (perhaps as part of a wider operational scalability discussion), and we note that draft-ietf-dnssd-hybrid-03 suggests further work (in section 6.4) on stitching together .local zones.
