Hi,

The device pairing draft was discussed in Prague at IETF99
https://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-ietf-dnssd-pairing-02

Those present in the meeting indicated a strong preference to

a) split out the analysis text from the specification text, i.e. to create an additional I-D

b) move the QR code text to a separate chapter

Christian’s main argument for a split was to minimise the size of document that would be given to someone to implement a spec.
Ted said he felt it was easy to start reading from Chapter 4 if just implementing.

The new QR chapter should also add text to make the UX a little clearer.

Please comment if you have a specific reason for not taking this approach.

A reminder that our meeting was recorded and available at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ug261n3nyRQ. The above discussion was around 30 mins in.

Many thanks,
Tim
