# Introduction

Unlike the Domain Name System {{RFC1034}}, with its authority servers and
delegation of authority,
Multicast DNS has no single source of authority. Because of this, mDNS has
a mechanism, conflict resolution
({{Section 9 of RFC6762}}) for detecting and fixing conflicts in mDNS
advertisements.

Hopefully the conversion was straightforward to achieve.
