I understand, but what about a non-normative appendix saying "This is
non-normative text. The normative references is RFC [insert HTTP RFC
number(s)]. Nevertheless, here is some guidance for the people who are
not familiar with HTTP: [insert Tony Finch's proposed list of common
error cases and recommended error codes]."
