I thoroughly disagree in this case. The only application using this will be one that can create binary messages, so the RRtype number is pretty trivial. 

The reason I chose TXT is that there is zero chance that there is any other reason for a TXT record for this special-use domain name, and people know TXT. If the WG wants a new RRtype for this, that's easy for me to change in the draft.
