OK, so let me try to summarize my point in an actionable way:

Pointing to just one X: too little choice
Pointing to XML authoring and kramdown-rfc authoring: right level of choice
Pointing to the whole smörgåsbord: too much choice

(But links to the smörgåsbord should be actively collected.)
