The IESG has approved the Internet-Draft "FDDI Management Information Base" <draft-ietf-fddimib-objects-02.txt> as a Proposed Standard. This document is the product of the FDDI MIB Working Group. The IESG contact person is Marshall Rose. (RFC Editor -- please note the "Notes to the RFC Editor" section at the bottom of this message.) Technical Summary This MIB module defines managed objects which correspond to ANSI SMT version 7.3. RFC 1285, a Proposed Standard, defines managed objects which correspond to ANSI SMT version 6.2. These two MIB modules (and two SMT versions) are not compatible, and different subtrees are used for the objects. Working Group Summary There were no significant areas of disagreement in the working group. Protocol Quality The NM AD and the NM Directorate have reviewed the specification. No implementations are known to exist, however this draft is derived from RFC 1285, which has received extensive implementation experience. Notes to the RFC Editor 1. Please change the module name from RFCxxxx-MIB to FDDI-SMT73-MIB 2. Please change the "fddi" OID to { transmission 15 }
