… I think the draft that Keith and Fernando wrote is a good start.

The organization might need a bit of work, but I like the idea of having a menu from which we can pick in order to address some, but perhaps not all, of the issues.

Also, first, it would be good to quantify the situation.  In what dimensions are we diverse and in what dimensions are we not?  Second, for each dimension in which we are not, some discussion as to which of the issues raised hits which dimension.  That is, draw out the possible causalities.

It could be that some logic is wrong.  What are the questions that need to be asked and answered to validate the assertions being made, and which parties are in a good position to ask, and which are in a good position to answer?

This sets up an opportunity to see that any changes we make will likely have some effect.
