Thanks Shuping.

For what it is worth, I am grateful to those ADs who have reported information about how they have spent their time.

I am reading it as it comes in and thinking thoughts, but I’m not sure that there is enough data to make any conclusions (well, I am sure that there isn’t enough data).

There is more or less enough data to ask some follow-up questions, perhaps suggesting breaking down the larger tasks a bit. But I’d prefer to wait a bit longer before doing that because I am pretty sure that AD time is not consistent week on week – averages over time will be far more useful.

I do appreciate that tracking time is a pain, especially if it isn’t part of your normal work pattern. So I’m doubly thankful to all of those who have contributed information, and I hope they will feel able to continue even if only sporadically.

A question for Shuping and Martin V: continued discussion of this topic would appear to be outside the scope of the working group.

While it is inevitable that some discussion of the merits of a proposal brought
to GENDISPATCH are necessary in order to evaluate the appropriate disposition of
the proposal, GENDISPATCH is not chartered to actually do the work proposed.
As part of the dispatch, a venue for further discussion should be identified.

I have been holding back from entering into further discussion of the topic Rich and I floated as NEWTON [1] because that seemed like a violation of the GenDispatch mailing list.

Maybe, in the absence of the IESG supporting the working group’s suggestion of holding a BoF, we could ask for a mailing list for the topic and so declutter the working group?

Cheers,

Adrian

*	I'm getting somewhat tired of tracking this, and am not sure if people are actually using / reviewing the data.

Had the BoF happened, the desired outcome would have been answers to those questions, and a common mechanism that was acceptable.

I am enjoying the irony. I am sure that you are not.
