Please define "entire tech industry". There's lots of companies here
that do e.g. software development, fintech, security research, 
consulting, etc, that do not even have this issue in the radar.

I don't think that the events in one country (or set of countries) 
necessarily need to set the agenda of an otherwise global organization.
