I think it’s not only entertaining but useful.  I see obvious parallels between what happened with standard time and time zones, and what is happening now with Internet protocols.  I think it’s a useful analogy to explore when thinking about how to talk about politics from the perspective of internet protocols, since it gives us a model for how the history might unfold.
