so this discussion goes into the right direction. For a chartering discussion, however, we'd want to see arguments for which specific protocols the IETF (rather than, say, the W3C) should extend in which specific way, to address which specific deficiencies. (Then we can discuss whether the complexity is worth the improvement.)
