???  I buy insurance not because of some socialist reason, but to reduce my
variance of expected outlays due to random events, and I pay the insurance
company a profit to cover their risk premium (the very notion of which is
the antithesis of socialism) for them assuming that variance.

Regardless, I don't see how this list is the appropriate place to talk about
insurance, socialism, or economics.
