FWIW, my opinion is close to what Andrew, Brian, Jon, and others have expressed in this thread. That is, what ultimately matters is the world’s adoption of standards rather than specific domains. I’m fine with the “backwards compatibility” direction that Alissa and Eliot suggested for the text.
