    I believe that the IETF needs to carefully consider the proposed approach in the 
    CWG discussion draft, and be prepared to engage and/or respond regarding any
    follow-up on this topic.
 
    I will also note that the numbers community has taken a more precise position in this 
    matter;  it is contained in

    section III.A.2., "IPR related to the provision of the IANA services remains with the community”
