And I think that's sufficient.  While it might seem reasonable to say
that the IESG can replace its appointee at will, I think that would be
a bad idea: I think that the IESG appointee is, above all, an LLC
Director (which is one reason I think it should not simply routinely
be the IETF Chair), and I would not want to give the IESG arbitrary
discretion to replace a Director.

It might work to have some sort of mechanism for the IESG to make a
replacement under some conditions (a supermajority vote of some sort),
but I think this definitely fits well into John Levine's "let's wait
to see if it actually is a problem" philosophy.  I'd rather leave this
with the normal recall process.
