IEEE LCN 2026 — CALL FOR PAPERS
51st Annual IEEE Conference on Local Computer Networks (LCN)
Coimbra, Portugal | October 7–9, 2026
Conference website: https://www.ieeelcn.org

********************************************************************************************************
ABOUT LCN
The IEEE LCN 2026 conference seeks papers presenting significant
research contributions in theoretical and practical aspects of computer
networking. LCN is a highly interactive conference that enables an
effective exchange of research outcomes and ideas among academics,
research students, and industry. For the past 50 years, major
developments from network protocols and sensor networks to AI-supported
networking and emerging areas like quantum networking have been reported
at this conference. LCN welcomes submissions on a wide range of computer
networking research, including but not limited to the following

TOPICS OF INTEREST (including but not limited to)
• AI-enabled networking and adaptive applications
• Cloud, data center, and Big Data networking
• Cognitive radio and opportunistic networking
• Cyber-physical, embedded, and IoT systems
• Decentralized systems and blockchain networks
• E-Health, smart, and wearable networks
• Green and sustainable networking
• Mobile and ubiquitous networking
• Networks for multimedia, VR, AR applications
• Network management, reliability, and security
• Satellite communications
• Software Defined Networking
• Performance evaluation and measurements
• Large Language Models (LLMs) for networking
• Quantum communication and networking
• Network security and privacy
• Vehicular networking

IMPORTANT DATES (AoE)
• Paper registration: April 13, 2026
• Paper submission: April 20, 2026
• Notifications: June 29, 2026
• Camera-ready copy due: July 27, 2026

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Authors are invited to submit papers via EDAS describing original,
previously unpublished work, not currently under review by another
conference, workshop, or journal. All accepted papers will be published
in IEEE Xplore. Full regular papers will appear in the IEEE LCN
Proceedings, while short papers will be published in the IEEE LCN
Companion Proceedings. IEEE reserves the right to remove papers from
IEEE Xplore that are not presented at the conference.

EDAS Link to Submit the Paper: https://edas.info/N34893

TRACKS / PAPER TYPES
There are a number of tracks that are designed to improve interactions
of experts over different stages in research development.

Full papers (no more than eight camera-ready pages excluding
bibliography and appendices, 10 pt font in IEEE format) should present
novel perspectives within the general scope of the conference. A best
paper will be recognized based on the quality of research and results,
as well as on the quality of presentation by the author. Full papers
will be published in the IEEE LCN Proceedings.

Short papers are an opportunity to present preliminary or interim
results, and are limited to six camera-ready pages excluding
bibliography and appendices (10pt font in IEEE format). Short papers
will be published in the IEEE LCN Companion Proceedings.

PRESENTATION FORMAT
LCN considers in-person meetings indispensable for personal exchanges,
discussions, and networking opportunities. Recognizing the evolving
landscape of academic conferences and the need for flexibility, LCN
offers a Remote Presentation Option for an additional registration fee.
The additional fee for remote presentations may be waived under specific
conditions.

********************************************************************************************************
AWARDS & SUPPORT
LCN Awards will include a Best Paper Award, Best Demo Award, a limited
number of Student Travel Grants, and N2Women Young Researcher
Fellowships.
