[Idr] Re: Call for initial drafts (-00) for the October 14th, 2024 interim

Mankamana:

You were the only person who showed interest for 10/14/2024 interim.  We are canceling interim.

If you wish to present a -00.txt draft at IETF-121, here are the requirements (from John Scudder AD):


  1.  Publish the draft by 10/21/2024 cut-off
  2.  Announce the draft on idr list
  3.  Request a slot for IDR meetings at IETF (Monday and Friday).

You will be schedule for a time slot at IETF-121

  1.  Start a discussion on the idr list with one other person
  2.  Confirm with Jie Dong that you have met the list-discussion requirement for presenting

Why are we requiring this for IDR presentations?

    IDR members have complained that they are getting presentations without IDR list discussions.

    We have two ways to address this as chairs:
     a) hold an interim to get discussion prior to IETF meetings, or
     b) require list discussions of -00.txt drafts.

Since we are not holding an interim, the IDR chairs will require you provide a list discussion.

Mankamis:

The IETF draft cut-off time is 10/21/2024.  However, if you want to submit at IDR WG - you need to present your draft contents at the 10/14/2024 interim.

It is helpful to submit even a partial draft before the IDR interim.  With feedback from the interim, you can improve your draft by the 10/21/2024 cut-off date.

Are you requesting a slot at 10/14/2024?

Just for understanding, is the cut off date for actual submission becomes 10th Oct for IDR rev_0 drafts? or we can still present the idea on 14th interim while actual rev_0 can still be submitted by IETF cut off date ?

Greetings IDR WG:

Individuals creating an initial draft (-00.txt) prior to IETF-121, please be warned that:


  1.  You MUST present your draft on October 14, 2024, at the IDR interim to get a time slot in IDR at IETF-121.
  2.  You MUST request your time slot for October 14, 2024, interim by 11:59 pm PDT on Thursday, October 10th.

If the IDR chairs do not receive any requests for time slots for presentation by October 10th, the October 14th Interim will be canceled.
