A new Request for Comments is now available in online RFC libraries. RFC 9247 Title: BGP - Link State (BGP-LS) Extensions for Seamless Bidirectional Forwarding Detection (S-BFD) Author: Z. Li, S. Zhuang, K. Talaulikar, Ed., S. Aldrin, J. Tantsura, G. Mirsky Status: Standards Track Stream: IETF Date: June 2022 Mailbox: lizhenbin@huawei.com, zhuangshunwan@huawei.com, ketant.ietf@gmail.com, aldrin.ietf@gmail.com, jefftant.ietf@gmail.com, gregimirsky@gmail.com Pages: 6 Updates/Obsoletes/SeeAlso: None I-D Tag: draft-ietf-idr-bgp-ls-sbfd-extensions-10.txt URL: https://www.rfc-editor.org/info/rfc9247 DOI: 10.17487/RFC9247 Seamless Bidirectional Forwarding Detection (S-BFD) defines a simplified mechanism to use Bidirectional Forwarding Detection (BFD) with large portions of negotiation aspects eliminated, thus providing benefits such as quick provisioning as well as improved control and flexibility to network nodes initiating the path monitoring. The link-state routing protocols (IS-IS and OSPF) have been extended to advertise the S-BFD Discriminators. This document defines extensions to the BGP - Link State (BGP-LS) address family to carry the S-BFD Discriminators' information via BGP. This document is a product of the Inter-Domain Routing Working Group of the IETF. This is now a Proposed Standard. STANDARDS TRACK: This document specifies an Internet Standards Track protocol for the Internet community, and requests discussion and suggestions for improvements. Please refer to the current edition of the Official Internet Protocol Standards (https://www.rfc-editor.org/standards) for the standardization state and status of this protocol. Distribution of this memo is unlimited. This announcement is sent to the IETF-Announce and rfc-dist lists.
