	67. Tony J. Genovese 68. Walter Weiss
	69. William B. Norton 70. Yakov Rekhter

I request that everyone check the list to be certain of 2 things:

1. If you volunteered, and your name does not show up on this list,
   please let me know immediately.
2. If your name is on this list and you did not volunteer, please
   let me know that immediately.

The next step in the process is to choose the 10 volunteers who will
sit on this year's NomCom Committee. Those 10 volunteers will be
chosen according to the algorithm documented in:

	draft-eastlake-selction-04.txt.

That text requires that there be several random seeds chosen for
running the algorithm. The rules require that those numbers be
announced before they are available.

The numbers chosen are the following:

1. Power Ball numbers to be drawn on Saturday 30 October 1999
   Form: xx.xx.xx.xx.xx.yy
2. NYSE declines value for Friday 29 October, 1999.
   Form: xxx,xxx,xxx
3. Australian/US dollar value for Friday 29 October, 1999.
   Form: x.yyyy
4. Closing index for Swiss SMI for Friday 29 October, 1999.
   Form: xxxx.yy

Seed 1, the PowerBall numbers can be gotten from www.powerball.com.
Seeds 2-4 will be taken from the NY Times of Saturday 30 October 1999.

The algorithm will be run by Donald Eastlake, last year's NomCom chair
and a liaison to this year's NomCom, though folks are welcome to run
the algorithm on their own to verify his results. This will produce a
re-ordered list. I will then start calling volunteers from the top of
that list. At the time of the call, each volunteer will be given a last
chance to refuse. The top 10 volunteers to accept will be this year's
voting members of the NomCom. The NomCom members will then be announced
on this list.

Among the good reasons for changing ones mind at the last minute is
that one has reconsidered and is interested in being a replacement
nominee for one of the following positions:

IESG Terms ending in March, 2000:

Keith Moore Applications
Erik Nordmark Internet
Marcus Leech Security
Bert Wijnen Operations and Network Management
Rob Coltun Routing
April Marine User Services
Vern Paxson Transport

IAB Terms ending in March, 2000:

Brian Carpenter
Steve Bellovin
Jon Crowcroft
Ned Freed
Tim Howes
John Klensin

Please note, once the members of the NomCom have been announced to this
list, they will no longer be eligible for any IAB or IESG position
during the term of the current NomCom.

One last thing: Now that the time for volunteering for NomCom is over,
it is

time for nominations to begin. Please nominate, or self-nominate,
members of our community who you feel are qualified to serve in any of
the positions listed above.

All nominations can be sent to me at: avri.doria@nokia.com

Thanks
