The IESG has received a request from the CBOR Object Signing and Encryption WG (cose) to consider the following document: - 'COSE Header parameter for RFC 3161 Time-Stamp Tokens' <draft-ietf-cose-tsa-tst-header-parameter-03.txt> as Proposed Standard The IESG plans to make a decision in the next few weeks, and solicits final comments on this action. Please send substantive comments to the last-call@ietf.org mailing lists by 2025-01-13. Exceptionally, comments may be sent to iesg@ietf.org instead. In either case, please retain the beginning of the Subject line to allow automated sorting. Abstract This document defines a CBOR Signing And Encrypted (COSE) header parameter for incorporating RFC 3161-based timestamping into COSE message structures (COSE_Sign and COSE_Sign1). This enables the use of established RFC 3161 timestamping infrastructure to prove the creation time of a message. Discussion Venues This note is to be removed before publishing as an RFC.
