The IESG has approved the following document:
- 'ICE Multihomed and IPv4/IPv6 Dual Stack Guidelines'
  (draft-ietf-ice-dualstack-fairness-07.txt) as Best Current Practice

This document is the product of the Interactive Connectivity
Establishment Working Group.

The IESG contact persons are Alexey Melnikov, Ben Campbell and Alissa
Cooper.

A URL of this Internet Draft is:
https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-ice-dualstack-fairness/

Technical Summary

This document provides guidelines on how to make Interactive Connectivity Establishment (ICE) conclude faster in multihomed
and IPv4/IPv6 dual-stack scenarios where broken paths exist. The provided guidelines are backwards compatible with the
  original ICE specification.

Working Group Summary

The document has been worked both at MMUSIC and ICE working groups since IETF #86 and the document has
received multiple reviews over time. Overall the mechanism is simple but details of the suggested
algorithm were discussed and updated throughout the process.

Document Quality

General concerns on behaviour with unreliable tunnelling mechanisms were
raised but no specific issues were discovered and the draft was updated to note
this issue in general. The final version received four reviews. Reviews from
WGLC resulted only in editorial changes. There are two implementations of the
   mechanism.

Personnel

The document shepherd is Ari Keränen. The responsible Area
   Director is Ben Campbell.
