The IESG has received a request from the Network Modeling WG (netmod) to consider the following document: - 'An Update to YANG Module Names Registration' <draft-ietf-netmod-rfc6020-iana-update-01.txt> as Proposed Standard The IESG plans to make a decision in the next few weeks, and solicits final comments on this action. Please send substantive comments to the last-call@ietf.org mailing lists by 2025-07-16. Exceptionally, comments may be sent to iesg@ietf.org instead. In either case, please retain the beginning of the Subject line to allow automated sorting. Abstract This document amends the IANA guidance on the uniqueness of YANG module and submodule names. The document updates RFC 6020 to clarify how modules and their revisions are handled by IANA. The text in this document was reviewed as part of rfc8407bis, but was farmed out to this document as the other document is a BCP. The file can be obtained via https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-netmod-rfc6020-iana-update/ No IPR declarations have been submitted directly on this I-D.
