The IESG has received a request from the Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol WG (xmpp) to consider the following document: - 'Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol (XMPP): Core' <draft-ietf-xmpp-3920bis-17.txt> as a Proposed Standard The IESG plans to make a decision in the next few weeks, and solicits final comments on this action. Please send substantive comments to the ietf@ietf.org mailing lists by 2010-10-21. Exceptionally, comments may be sent to iesg@ietf.org instead. In either case, please retain the beginning of the Subject line to allow automated sorting. In particular, this document contains a normative reference to a document of lower maturity level: RFC 3447: Public-Key Cryptography Standards (PKCS) #1: RSA Cryptography Specifications Version 2.1 The IESG is interested in community feedback on whether this downward reference is appropriate.
