Hi - In the interest of transparency, the IETF LLC board has decided to share a summary of the IETF Executive Director’s 2020 goals with the community. These are the areas on which the Executive Director will focus and the basis on which the board will assess their performance. These goals will be reviewed and revised (as needed) on a quarterly basis.

1. Governance: Support the board in the ongoing establishment of a best practice governance framework. This includes support for the board’s strategic planning and policy compliance.

2. Contract Management: Upgrade our contract management and procurement processes to meet high standards of professionalism, probity, transparency and quality.

3. IETF Tools: Modernise information technology systems and platforms on which the IETF depends to meet existing and future requirements and provide a solid foundation for future development, improved reliability, performance and accessibility.

4. Fundraising: Develop long-term fundraising mechanisms and meet specific fundraising goals set in collaboration with the Board.

5. Communications & Interaction: Improve external communications and engagement to support fundraising goals, IESG/IRSG participation goals, meeting venue selection, meeting experience, and community engagement, grounded in quantifiable data to support the LLC’s decision-making and approach.

6. Operations: Develop and improve key operational processes, including a detailed expenditure review to identify savings.
