Last week ISO 639-3/RA released their annual collection of updates, including the usual assortment of new codes, new and updated names, retired codes, and more.

In the next few weeks I will send proposed paperwork to this list to implement these changes in the Registry. I hope to get to it sooner, but things promise to be busy for me in the near future, so please be patient.

The RA's Summary of Outcomes document notes there were a total of 49 accepted changes. Some of these do not affect the Registry, such as reclassifying a "living" language as "extinct." On the other hand, there are several new codes for sign languages, each of which will result in two new subtags (one primary language, one extended language). So the final count for us might not be 49, but that's the right order of magnitude.
