Turkey (the nation) now wants to be known as 'Türkiye,' pronounced Tur-key-YAY" I'm wondering how positive or negative the Reviewer and list participants might feel about adding "Türkiye" to the Registry record for the existing region subtag 'TR', as either the primary or secondary Description field. For what it's worth, we have updated three region subtag records in the past to reflect new "preferred" country names: Subtag: CV Description: Cabo Verde Description: Cape Verde (updated 2014) Subtag: CZ Description: Czechia Description: Czech Republic (updated 2016) Subtag: SZ Description: Eswatini Description: eSwatini Description: Swaziland (updated 2018) Obviously some of these name changes have proven more successful than others in everyday use.
