This is interesting. I see that zbl is an iso639-3 value since the late
2000s.

1. I’m missing what is to be gained by specifying a sub-tab In addition to
the iso639-3 code.

2. At its core it seems the communicative system is a script. Does it have
a Unicode script tag? And if that were established would a sub-tag still be
needed?
