I think what’s interesting is that hashtags, unlike domain names, don’t need any special regulatory agency to manage, because the technology allows for multiple uses.  

Does twitter regulate hash tags or allow users to “own” one? I don’t think so. So using a hashtag on twitter isn’t much different from typing it in email or putting it up on a billboard, is it??
