Seems like IETF's very purpose is to render "proprietary stuff" 
irrelevant, instead of letting the Big Companies dictate what it works 
on and what kinds of people can work on it as it does far too often now.

I think it's sufficient, if inefficient, if a client can list the files 
that are available and do it's own wildcarding.
