New is inherently a Good Thing.

This is a technology organization and I was proposing to develop a new
technology and asking for input. At this point I am designing a new
capability and asking people what features they would want if they were to
use it.

I am not proposing people use the system because it doesn't exist yet. I am
asking questions now because it will be much harder to change things once
something is built.
