From central Europe perspective - price for airline ticket to Vancouver in summer is rocket expensive. I can fly to united states for half price.

So "cheap food" cant beat more than $1.000 extra fee paid to airline.

It does not mean YVR is a bad place, but I'd recommend to be carefull when talking about expensiveness.
