The web infrastructure for directories is
coming along fine. As a avergae user
I just bundled my certificate with
a listing provided in the switchboard
directory service.

see the "find user" service at www.switchboard.com.
You too can do the same -
enroll at www.verisign.com, then 
list your certificate at www.switchboard.com.
 
Now, this listing was created without my
permission, though I amended its value.

Would it be unethical for VeriSign
to now place a link to any certificate - issued
to any user who has subscribed to the Class 1 CA service
wevebeen running for a month now - in 
their listed entry, without their permission?

(I'm assuming we obtained the permission and
cooperation of Banyan, at least?)

This would bootstrap a rather sizeable
community, and might help deployment of
PEM systems.

Any comments?
