Hi IPPM WG,

This is a -00 new draft on extensions to IOAM Trace Option.
The idea is to integrate CSIG-like fixed-size metadata into IOAM data.
Appreciate your review and comments.
Best Regards,
Xiao Min

A new version of Internet-Draft draft-xiao-ippm-ioam-trace-extensions-00.txt
has been successfully submitted by Xiao Min and posted to the
IETF repository.

Name: draft-xiao-ippm-ioam-trace-extensions
Revision: 00
Title: Extensions to IOAM Trace Option for Carrying Fixed-Size Data
Date: 2024-10-21
Group: Individual Submission
Pages: 9
URL: https://www.ietf.org/archive/id/draft-xiao-ippm-ioam-trace-extensions-00.txt
Status: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-xiao-ippm-ioam-trace-extensions/
HTMLized: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/draft-xiao-ippm-ioam-trace-extensions

Abstract:

The IOAM Trace-Option data defined in RFC 9197 is a variable-length
data, the length of this kind of data varies with the transited IOAM-
capable nodes and the selection of data fields processed by each
IOAM-capable node. This document extends the IOAM Trace Option to
carry a fixed-size data, the length of this kind of data is fixed and
doesn't vary with the transited IOAM-capable nodes and the selection
of data fields processed by each IOAM-capable node.
