Absolutely not, because it isn't in C++ which I tend to expect to be
more used in such systems. (But who knows in the long run, given the
way our technology keeps changing?)

I'm sure that is not the case today. But given that CBOR was designed
for low end devices and that programming styles have evolved enormously
in recent years, I wouldn't bet on that remaining true.
