Alissa, I'm starting to think that SLAAC is analogous to diesel engines. Everyone thought it was a great idea for the longest time, and now it's getting a bad rap.

The requirement in Section 3 #1 still has to hold, for any form of stable address developed with SLAAC, I would think. If one reboots the host, the address on that subnet has to reappear as it was before. If you drop the requirement, people will just assume that it's obvious anyway, I would think.
