Yeah +1. Whether you say "scope," or whether your say "region of reachability," or even "domain," you're going to get exactly the same finicky complaints. IMO, we're best off just living with it. I honestly don’t believe the "inconsistencies" are crucial.

As to MANETs, they're in a class of their own. As if invented by people who had no clue what IP addresses are, and assumed they are just unique identifiers. Like a Social Security number, or a MAC address. You end up needing an exhaustive list of addresses reachable, or just default all along through a given gateway.
