Perhaps I am oversteping here but I find the current discussion less
"green-field" than it might look at first glance.

Some documents that might be germaine:

	SNS - Dagile & Melling
	Handle - Sun
	RC/BLOB - Moore

In the various IETF WG archives and (mostly) current IDs.

Or am I completly out of step here?
