One might be interested to see that IEEE advances well with the specs 
of 802.11bd.  It seems there will be finalization of that document by 
the end of this year 2022. (slide 8 says "RevCom and SASB approval Dec 

802.11bd can be seen as a successor to 802.11p; one of its advantages 
would be the higher bandwidth, in the order of gbit/s ('p' is in the 
tens of mbit/s).
