Yes. The RFC is out of date now, in the sense that you can expect to
have interoperability problems if you follow it to the letter. But, as
Bjoern points out, there are aspects of JSON defined only in the RFC.

In other words, I think a new RFC is needed, but Crockford has already
documented almost all of the changes needed in ES5.
