was awful, but I never paid an extra dime after replacing three consoles througut last gen. Maybe I'm the exception here.

I've been going back and forth on jumping ship after this development, but I truly believe in the quality (and deep pockets) of Microsoft. I can't get myself to  into Sony. 

Obviously I could just get both, but I'm the kind of person that gets overwhelmed enough as it is with my current backlog. I can't justify paying another 400+ just for a handful of exclusives. Of course, time will tell if I can handle not catching up with my friend in game lobbies and in online battlefields. 

Sorry for the vent. Just a ty day.

It seems that you are more emotionally affected by this than your friend is.

Would you be willing to sell your xbox and get a ps4?

If not, then w can you expect your friend to  a product he does not want and miss out on the game he desires to play?

If you feel so strongly about it, then it seems you suld be the one w compromises on their cice of console, not him.

And if you are not willing to do that, then you suld understand why he must feel the same way.
Some of this you've nailed, sure. But the point is that nothing in Sony's forecast really changed from two months ago. A simple, "Hey man, I might get a PS4" would have allowed me the opportunity to wait it out. I was blindsided, and that's more of the issue.
