At least the mods here leave well alone. It's the sub itself that has a bias... which is fine - consensus will happen - but that consensus suld not be "managed".
Downvote and move on if you think the content suldn't be in the sub. 

Personally I think at its core reddit functions best as a platform for sharing and discussing news, which in the case of Australia is dominated by politics.

Anyway if the people such as yourself crywanking about too much politics in this sub were actually in the majority, then surely political posts would attract phenomenally fewer upvotes and comments. As it is they seem pretty popular so I guess you'll have to deal with it.

I don't really see anything here that indicates that the alien is "the most human" character.

In fact, it's telling that Ash, being an android with a bitter view of humanity, thinks the alien is 'perfect' - certainly he doesn't see it as exceptionally human

I'm not sure what you're soting for here - it seems natural that we're supposed to see in the creature a st of our worst traits, our baser nature, but that's not what one usually refers to when talking about our essential humanity.
