The function of the pump is to pressurize the spray arms and in most models it is also used to drain the water. The pump sits at the bottom of the dishwasher and typically consists of two separate compartments; one for wash or circulation and the other for drain. The circulaion part of the pump will tipically consist of the wash impeller and the filter components while the drain portion will consist of a drain impeller and a chopper blade or in some cases, a solenoid operated diverter. The impellers are driven by an electric motor that is attached to the bottom or side of the pump. ================================================== == All of the messages we send are from TTH HG-Networks / 3 4 Miller Road / Farmingdale NY 1 17 35 | Your-Subscription-settings http://www.douglashandmade.com/whitecap-388-swopped-torpedoed.htm / Another option is to write to__us. == Network-ID: 47988957 Wash Arm Bearing Ring & Spray Arm Seal If your dishwasher is noisy, the cause could be a wash arm seal or bearing ring. These parts are plastic rings that support the wash arm or spray arm and that the arm rotates on. Either of these parts could be loose or be worn causing the spray arm to not function properly. Inspect both the seal and the ring and replace if required. PCP thinks it's the most extreme case of Plantar Fasciitis she's ever seen. Apparently it usually only hurts in the heal, it's very unusual to damage the whole thing along the entire bottom of the foot. But of course that is what I did. It seems what *might* have happened is that the tight Achilles Tendons that have bothered on/off me for years decided to pass the buck along to the tendon along the bottom of my feet. (Of course, this tightness & associated pain is worse now that I have fibro and slower to heal.) Treatment -- rest, ice, repeat. Longer term treatment, same as for Achilles - stretch & strengthen calfs, achilles, feet, etc. Slowly feeling better, thank goodness. Particularly good they are improving since I ran out of pain meds before Christmas and am having quite a time getting them renewed. 'm sure no one will want to hear about this, but one of the things I've learned to do when I'm having a loooong flare (which I am now) is to fast. Joel Fuhrman, MD, has a great book on this topic and how fasting will interrupt the disease process in many instances, and much as I hate to admit it, he's right. It is a royal pain to fast, and fasting on juices and the like doesn't seem to do it for me: I have to go cold turkey and fast on nothing but lots of water, for up to ten days. Needless to say, it's not that often that I can make myself do it, but it really does work. I suppose part of it, for me, is that I have a lot of food allergies, and also of course there's the inflammation thing...and Fuhrman says that the cells are what store the toxins, so although you wouldn't want to fast to lost , the connection is obvious. The alternative to fasting would be a raw of green veggies and fruits, but that way it takes longer. The irony, for me, is that I most need to fast when the weather is coldest, and fasting REALLY makes me cold Anyway, I'm trying to get myself psyched up to fast, because I know it will work, and I'm amazingly miserable at the moment (as I notice a lot of people are here)... Wondering if any others have experience with this.
